Repair Drywall,

Materials needed to repair drywall:

  • Drywall patch
  • Joint compound (also known as drywall mud)
  • Drywall tape
  • Sandpaper
  • Putty knife
  • Utility knife
  • Paint and paintbrush (optional)

Step 1: Cut the hole into a square or rectangle shape with a utility knife. Make sure the edges of the hole are smooth and even.

Step 2: Cut a piece of drywall patch slightly larger than the hole. Place it over the hole and trace around the edges with a pencil.

Step 3: Cut along the pencil line with a utility knife to create a patch that will fit perfectly over the hole.

Step 4: Apply a thin layer of joint compound around the edges of the hole using a putty knife. Then, apply a piece of drywall tape over the compound, pressing it down firmly with the putty knife.

Step 5: Apply another thin layer of joint compound over the tape, making sure to smooth it out as much as possible. Allow the compound to dry completely.

Step 6: Sand the surface of the patch with fine-grit sandpaper until it is smooth and even with the surrounding wall. Wipe away any dust with a damp cloth.

Step 7: Apply a second layer of joint compound over the patch, extending it a few inches beyond the edges of the first layer. Smooth it out and allow it to dry completely.

Step 8: Sand the surface of the patch again until it is completely smooth. Wipe away any dust with a damp cloth.

Step 9: If necessary, apply a third layer of joint compound and sand it smooth once it dries.

Step 10: Once the patch is completely dry and smooth, it can be painted to match the surrounding wall. Apply a coat of paint over the patch and allow it to dry completely.

Congratulations, you have successfully fixed a hole in it!

How about a joke?

Why did the drywall contractor refuse to patch the hole in the wall at the yoga studio?

Because he said it was a stretch to expect him to make it look perfect!

Yea I know… I’ll stick to Drywall, you take care of making the jokes? Deal?
